Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified medical service provider to conduct annual medical tests for staff members of the National Museum over a period of 60 months (5 years). The tests aim to monitor staff health, particularly their exposure to dust in the working environment, through regular medical assessments and dust sampling. Additionally, the service provider may be requested to perform other medical assessments as needed.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Providing annual medical examinations for approximately 8 staff members, including specific tests such as basic medical exams, vision screening, audiogram screening, glucose screening, lung function tests, and X-rays where applicable.
• Conducting medical assessments at locations within the Mangaung area, with tests potentially performed off-premises.
• Supporting additional medical assessments if required during the contract period.
• Ensuring compliance with all specified requirements, including documentation and registration standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of basic medical examinations, vision screening, audiogram screening, glucose screening, lung function tests (for wood and silica dust), and X-rays where applicable.
• Availability of Occupational Respiratory Evaluation Protocols (OREPs) upon request.
• The medical practice must be located within the Mangaung area, supported by lease agreements or proof of rates and taxes.
• Qualified and registered nursing staff must be employed, with proof of registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• A qualified medical doctor must oversee the assessments, with proof of registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
• The service provider must submit all required documentation, including completed bid forms, tax compliance proof, CSD registration, and CIPC registration documents.
• The quotation must conform to the specifications outlined by the Museum and be valid for a minimum of 90 days.
• The provider must be an active South African registered company.
