Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a reliable service provider to collect wastepaper from the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) Head Office on a weekly basis, ensuring secure disposal and compliance with privacy and environmental standards. The service aims to prevent storage issues, protect sensitive information, and support sustainability initiatives by implementing efficient wastepaper management practices.

Scope

The appointed service provider will be responsible for:

• Collecting wastepaper from the SASSA Head Office Building over a period of five (5) years.
• Providing and managing recycling bags at photocopiers and workstations within the premises.
• Ensuring all wastepaper is securely handled, transported, and removed from the premises.
• Conducting collections in the presence of a SASSA official to maintain accountability.
• Handling fluctuations in wastepaper volume, including larger collections when operational demands require.
• Utilizing suitable vehicles, trolleys, and trained personnel to ensure secure and efficient collection.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must:

• Use vehicles suitable for transporting large quantities of wastepaper securely and efficiently.
• Provide sturdy trolleys capable of handling heavy loads for safe movement within the building.
• Ensure personnel are trained in handling confidential documents and adhere to privacy and security protocols.
• Implement contingency plans for volume fluctuations, especially for larger-than-normal collections.
• Conduct all collections in the presence of a SASSA official for accountability.
