Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider (SP) responsible for the supply and delivery of fish feed to the Aquaculture Technology Demonstration Centre at Gariep Dam, Free State, on behalf of the Fisheries Management branch of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE)/Marine Living Resources Fund (MLRF).

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of fish feed for tilapia, carp, and catfish, with specified weights and quantities as detailed in the specifications.
• Delivery of fish feed in four shipments, each approximately equal in weight, within three weeks of notification.
• Adherence to delivery timelines and quality standards as per the specifications.
• Compliance with procurement policies, including registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Provision of related services such as invoicing, project management, and reporting.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Supplying fish feed with specific weights per bag (e.g., 18kg per bag) and total quantities for each species.
• Ensuring the fish feed meets the nutritional specifications (e.g., protein content for different feeds).
• Delivery of the feed in four shipments, each delivered within three weeks of notification.
• Providing detailed pricing, including costs per phase, travel expenses, and other applicable costs.
• Submitting all bid documents on official forms, including valid tax clearance and B-BBEE certificates.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder should possess:

• Experience in supplying aquaculture feed or similar agricultural products.
• Capability to manage logistics and timely delivery of large quantities of feed.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and compliance with South African regulations.
• Financial and administrative skills to prepare accurate invoices, reports, and project documentation.
• Ability to provide technical support and ensure quality standards are met.
