Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider capable of distributing press releases across various media channels for Iziko Museums of South Africa. The goal is to maximize media coverage, reach targeted audiences through websites, online news platforms, email campaigns, social media, and internet feeds, thereby increasing awareness and publicity for Iziko’s initiatives over a twelve-month period.

Scope

The scope of the project includes providing comprehensive press release distribution services, which encompass:

• Distribution to South African arts, culture, heritage, tourism, lifestyle, and entertainment media via an established media database.
• Publishing and distributing press releases to relevant online news and event websites.
• Email distribution of press releases to media contacts and subscriber databases.
• Sharing and amplifying press releases across social media platforms.
• Utilizing internet feeds to maximize media reach and publicity.

The service provider must deliver these services consistently over a twelve-month period, with detailed pricing and compliance documentation as specified in the tender.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of a Central Supplier Database report with supplier number, company details, and tax verification.
• Submission of detailed pricing on company letterhead, inclusive of VAT, disbursements, and escalations if applicable.
• Provision of a valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit.
• Signed RFQ documentation.
• Completion of the pricing schedule for items including press release distribution, website distribution, email distribution, social media sharing, and internet feeds.
• Evaluation based on the total bid price (including VAT) and adherence to mandatory compliance requirements.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in press release distribution and media outreach within South Africa.
• Capability to reach a niche audience across multiple media channels effectively.
• Proficiency in managing digital distribution platforms, social media amplification, and online media engagement.
• Ability to provide detailed reports and documentation verifying distribution activities and compliance.
• Understanding of the media landscape in South Africa, including arts, culture, heritage, tourism, lifestyle, and entertainment sectors.
• Compliance with B-BBEE requirements and internal controls to support value-for-money procurement.
