Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply system control valves for the NW Plasma Gas Project at Necsa's NW PlasGas Demonstration Facility. The project aims to ensure precise control and regulation of oxygen gas supply to the plasma reactor, supporting the demonstration and operational requirements of the facility.

Scope

The scope includes the procurement and supply of control valves suitable for oxygen gas control at specified pressure and temperature conditions. The valves must meet the detailed mechanical, control, and safety specifications outlined in the tender documentation, including materials of construction, mechanical properties, and compliance with relevant standards. The scope also encompasses adherence to the specified process conditions, valve sizing, and integration with existing systems as per the provided drawings and specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Valve Sizing & Specification: Inlet pressure from 400 kPa(g) to 1000 kPa(g), outlet pressure set at 400 kPa(g), maximum differential pressure of 600 kPa, and critical flow considerations.
• Materials of Construction: Body, bellows, spring, seat, disk, and stem made from suitable materials such as 316 SS, with supplier advised alternatives. Non-wetted parts also specified.
• Mechanical Properties: Compliance with specified pressure ratings (Class 1500), flange specifications, and pipe sizes (NB 25).
• Control & Safety Features: Fail action, seat leakage class, maximum shut-off differential pressure (1000 kPa(g)), and alarm/switch interlocks for low/high pressure conditions.
• Measurement & Control: Accurate control of oxygen gas within the specified range (0-1500 kPa(g)), with display and remote recording capabilities.
• Standards & Documentation: Compliance with referenced standards and drawings, including P&ID diagrams and process gas requirements.

Skills Requirements

• Engineering Expertise: Knowledge in chemical and process engineering, particularly in gas control systems and valve sizing.
• Mechanical Engineering Skills: Ability to specify and evaluate materials of construction, mechanical properties, and valve design features.
• Instrumentation & Control: Skills in control system integration, alarm/interlock configuration, and remote monitoring systems.
• Standards & Compliance: Familiarity with relevant standards such as ASME B16.5, ASTM A182, and safety classification requirements.
• Documentation & Communication: Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and safety documentation, and to communicate effectively with suppliers and project teams.
