Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified service provider to deliver a Risk Assessment Training Course tailored specifically to the theatre environment. The training aims to equip Artscape’s technical, maintenance, and health and safety personnel with the skills to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with theatre operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and fostering a proactive risk management culture.

Scope

The scope of work includes delivering a comprehensive Risk Assessment Training Program that:

• Addresses the unique risks inherent to theatre operations, including those related to stage services, maintenance, electrical, electronics, plumbing, and structural responsibilities.
• Provides delegates with practical skills to identify, assess, and mitigate risks in theatre environments.
• Ensures participants receive relevant learning materials, attendance registers, feedback reports, and credit-bearing certificates upon successful completion.
• Includes submission of detailed course proposals covering overview, target audience, outline, and benefits.
• Provides training between 17 February and 31 March 2026 at the specified location in Cape Town.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must meet the following technical criteria:

• Be registered with a Sector Education Training Authority (SETA) and/or QCTO, or hold Health and Safety registration with the Department of Labour and Employment.
• Submit an updated BBBEE certificate and be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Deliver outcomes-based, credit-bearing training aligned with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
• Provide comprehensive course materials, including course overview, target audience, outline, and benefits.
• Ensure all learners receive certificates of compliance or trade test certificates upon successful completion.
• Collect and submit attendance registers and feedback reports to Artscape.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Experience in delivering health and safety or risk assessment training, preferably within theatre or similar environments.
• Ability to develop and deliver practical, outcomes-based training tailored to technical and maintenance staff.
• Proficiency in creating engaging training materials and assessments that meet accreditation standards.
• Capability to provide detailed course proposals and reports, including learner feedback and attendance records.
• Compliance with government procurement policies, including BBBEE and CSD registration.
