Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a service provider for the service, calibration, repairs, and supply of instrument and spare parts for laboratory equipment and consumables at Kriel Power Station. The contract aims to ensure that laboratory instruments are maintained to SANAS 17025 accreditation standards, supporting accurate analysis and reporting.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of services, calibration, repairs, and supply of instrument and spare parts for laboratory equipment and consumables.
• Duration of 5 years, on an as and when required basis.
• Applicable to Kriel Power Station’s chemical services coal laboratory, which is SANAS 17025 accredited.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with ISO 17025 standards for calibration and testing accuracy.
• Provision of SANAS accreditation certificates for calibration personnel and equipment.
• Proof of previous similar work performed, including client references and scope of work.
• Submission of safety data sheets (SDS), certificates of analysis (COA), and other relevant documentation.
• Adherence to specified technical evaluation criteria, including equipment specifications and calibration standards.
• Participation in proficiency testing and demonstration of competency.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the contractor include:

• Qualified calibration personnel with relevant certificates and experience.
• Technical expertise in calibration, maintenance, and repair of laboratory instruments.
• Knowledge of SANAS accreditation requirements and ISO standards.
• Ability to provide proof of previous similar projects and client references.
• Understanding of safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) policies and compliance.
• Capability to meet the development and participation goals as per CIDB standards, where applicable.
