Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to perform comprehensive service, maintenance, and refueling of the SBDM Generator for a period of three (3) years. The goal is to ensure the reliable operation, optimal performance, and longevity of the generator through scheduled maintenance, servicing, and refueling activities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Servicing of the SBDM generator at specified intervals, including minor and major maintenance.
• Supply and replacement of spare parts according to manufacturer specifications.
• Conducting tests, inspections, and engine run checks.
• Quarterly inspection services, including engine and control panel checks.
• Refueling the generator with 50ppm diesel at the designated site (No. 32 Govan Mbeki Avenue, Gqeberha).
• Provision of all necessary equipment, tools, and qualified personnel to perform the tasks.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The service provider must have a valid CIDB contractor grading certificate of 1ME or higher.
• All maintenance and spare parts must conform to the manufacturer's specifications.
• Services must include both minor and major servicing, engine checks, control panel inspections, and battery testing.
• Refueling must be performed with 50ppm diesel, ensuring quality and safety standards.
• The provider must have the necessary equipment and qualified diesel mechanics, with CVs and qualifications submitted as part of the bid.

Skills Requirements

The skills and experience required for the successful bidder include:

• Relevant company experience in generator servicing and maintenance, with a minimum of 5 projects of similar scope completed in the past.
• Experience of key personnel, particularly diesel mechanics, with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Qualifications of the diesel mechanic, preferably a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (NQF 6) or higher.
• Ownership or Hired status of equipment and tools necessary for maintenance activities.
• Ability to perform scheduled inspections, tests, and refueling activities efficiently and according to standards.
