Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure professional geotechnical and geohydrological services for the assessment and investigation of water sources and ground stability at Mamolobela Secondary School and Moisele Primary School. This includes conducting borehole investigations, water quality testing, and providing comprehensive reports to support the construction and rehabilitation of storm-damaged school infrastructure.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Geotechnical investigations including borehole siting, drilling, casing, and testing.
• Geohydrological studies involving water yield testing, water quality analysis, and site assessments.
• Preparation of siting reports, final geohydrological reports, and recommendations.
• Provision of professional services by registered engineers or scientists with relevant experience.
• Submission of all required documentation, including company profiles, professional registration certificates, and detailed work programmes.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

1. Engagement of qualified professionals registered with ECSAs or SACNASP, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in borehole development projects.
2. Conducting geohydrological investigations such as yield testing, water sampling, and geophysical surveys (magnetic, electromagnetic, resistivity).
3. Preparation of siting reports that include site location, geological and hydrological analysis, and drilling target recommendations.
4. Supervised drilling and testing activities, ensuring site protection and rehabilitation post-completion.
5. Delivery of comprehensive reports covering background, methodology, findings, and recommendations, signed by a registered professional.
6. Adherence to relevant standards such as SANS 10299-1:2003, SANS 10299-2:2003, SANS 10299-4:2003, and SANS 241:2015 for testing and analysis.
7. Provision of detailed pricing, including costs for siting, drilling, testing, water quality analysis, and reporting, with VAT included.
