Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage suitably experienced service providers to develop, manage, and execute an integrated media engagement, media production, and advertising campaign on behalf of Iziko Museums of South Africa. The goal is to enhance the visibility and engagement of Iziko Museums across various channels, including print, radio, online, and community platforms, thereby broadening reach, sharing knowledge, and fostering connections beyond physical spaces. The campaign aims to position Iziko as a dynamic, inclusive cultural institution, strengthen its public profile, diversify audiences, and promote its heritage and sub-brands through targeted media activities.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Development and implementation of an integrated PR strategy, media engagement plan, and targeted advertising across multiple channels.
• Production of print, radio, and digital advertisements, including design, resizing, and recording of campaign adverts.
• Placement and management of adverts in print media, radio, and online platforms, including search engine ads.
• Media engagement activities related to campaign events and activations, including media liaison and final placement approvals.
• Overseeing campaign production, including design, recording, and creative asset development.
• Implementation of advertising acquisition in categories such as online, print, radio, and community platforms, especially during key periods like Heritage Month, Heritage Day, and school holidays.
• Negotiation of rates, securing additional value, and ensuring cost-effective media placements.

Technical Requirements

The service provider must:

• Develop and produce campaign advertisements suitable for print, radio, and online channels, including radio adverts of approximately 30 seconds.
• Design creative assets for search engine advertisements and manage their placement and spend.
• Coordinate with Iziko’s Advancement Department for final approval of media placements and campaign materials.
• Oversee the production and recording of radio adverts and ensure their timely delivery.
• Implement media engagement activities, including media liaison, event coverage, and activation support.
• Negotiate and secure optimal media rates and placements, including additional value where possible.
• Provide detailed costing, including VAT, disbursements, and potential escalations.
• Ensure compliance with administrative requirements such as CSD registration, tax status verification, B-BBEE certification, and submission of all necessary documentation.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in integrated media campaigns, including media planning, buying, and production across print, radio, and digital platforms.
• Strong creative and technical skills in designing advertisements and producing radio and digital content.
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive media engagement strategies.
• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable rates and additional value in media placements.
• Capacity to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including government agencies and media outlets.
• Knowledge of South African media landscape, including community and regional broadcasters, print publications, and online platforms.
• Compliance with administrative and regulatory requirements, including CSD registration, tax compliance, and B-BBEE accreditation.
• Strong project management skills to oversee campaign timelines, deliverables, and quality assurance.
