Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and deliver agricultural and building materials to support the Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) support programme initiated by Senqu Municipality. The aim is to facilitate local economic development by providing essential tools, supplies, and equipment to empower SMMEs, enabling them to improve and expand their products and services.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of a range of agricultural and building materials, including:

• Welded wire mesh galvanised
• Barbed wire and galvanised wire
• Fence standards and poles (Pole pine, SA Pine)
• Nails, Lipped channels, corrugated iron sheets, welding rods
• Various agricultural inputs such as pig mash, maize, bran, crushed maize, seeds
• Veterinary supplies including vaccines, syringes, injectable solutions
• Tools and equipment such as ultrasound scanners, diagnostic tools, and spray equipment
• Plastic tanks, garden taps, sprinkler systems, and other miscellaneous items

The delivery is to be made to Lady Grey within a specified timeframe, with the contract being a once-off arrangement for the duration of the project.

Technical Requirements

• All goods must meet the specifications detailed in the tender document, including quality standards and safety requirements.
• Items such as veterinary equipment must be equipped with the latest technology, e.g., ultrasound scanners with Android OS, high-resolution cameras, and sufficient RAM/ROM.
• Delivery must be completed within 7 days of order receipt.
• Goods must be supplied in appropriate packaging to prevent damage during transit and storage.
• All products must be accompanied by relevant certificates, photographs, and specifications.
• Suppliers must ensure compliance with local content legislation, providing proof of local manufacturing or obtaining necessary import authorizations.
• Samples and testing may be required for quality assurance, with inspections conducted at the supplier’s premises or upon delivery.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying agricultural, building, and veterinary materials, with references to previous similar projects.
• Capability to meet technical specifications, including advanced veterinary diagnostic equipment and IT hardware.
• Ability to deliver goods within tight timeframes (7 days) and in compliance with quality standards.
• Knowledge of local legislation regarding procurement, local content, and import regulations.
• Registered on the municipal supplier database and the Central Suppliers’ Database (CSD), with up-to-date tax compliance documentation.
• Capacity to provide after-sales support, warranties, and documentation such as certificates, photographs, and specifications.
• Adequate financial and logistical capacity to handle the scope of supply and delivery.
