Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of appliances for a period of twelve months to the Cape Winelands District Municipality. The aim is to ensure the provision of various appliances as specified, meeting quality standards and operational requirements over the contract duration.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of a range of appliances including refrigerators, ice makers, heaters, microwaves, shredders, projectors, dishwashers, fans, vacuum cleaners, stoves, laminators, and other specified equipment. The appliances are to be delivered to multiple locations within the municipality, with the possibility of awarding more than one item to a single service provider. The contract duration is twelve months, with provisions for potential extension based on additional funding and performance.

Technical Requirements

The appliances must meet the minimum specifications outlined in the tender, including:

• Refrigerators with specific capacity, size, and features such as adjustable thermostats and energy efficiency.
• Oil heaters with specified power, fins, heat intensities, and safety features.
• Bar fridges with energy efficiency, adjustable shelves, and interior lighting.
• Microwave ovens with specified power output, dimensions, and safety features.
• Heavy-duty shredders with security level P-2, capacity, and shredder oil supply.
• Projectors with 4K UHD rendering, brightness, and longevity features.
• Dishwashers, fan heaters, vacuum cleaners, stove with oven, laminators, and other appliances, each with detailed specifications including size, capacity, safety features, and warranty.

All appliances must conform to the relevant standards and specifications provided in the tender documentation.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Potential bidders must demonstrate:

• Capability to supply and deliver the specified appliances within the stipulated timeframe.
• Experience in providing similar appliances, supported by at least two reference letters with contactable references.
• Proof of relevant project experience and capacity to execute the contract effectively.
• Compliance with all legal, financial, and technical prerequisites, including registration on the municipality’s supplier database and adherence to procurement policies.
• Provision of valid B-BBEE status level verification certificates or sworn affidavits, where applicable.
• Ability to manage international supply chain risks, considering geopolitical and logistical disruptions, and incorporate these considerations into pricing and delivery schedules.

Additionally, bidders should possess:

• Financial stability demonstrated through recent audited financial statements (for contracts exceeding R10 million).
• Technical expertise in handling, installing, and maintaining the appliances as specified.
• Capacity to provide after-sales support, warranties, and spare parts as required.
