Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver bearings at Kusile Power Station on an “as and when required” basis over a period of five (5) years. The focus is on ensuring the procurement of bearings that meet specified technical standards and local content requirements, promoting local production and content in line with South African regulations.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the supply and delivery of bearings to Kusile Power Station as needed over a five-year period. The contract involves the provision of goods that comply with technical specifications and local content thresholds, including adherence to the relevant standards and declaration processes outlined in the tender documentation.

Technical Requirements

• Compliance with SABS approved technical specification number SATS 1286:2011.
• Bearings must meet the minimum local content thresholds as specified in the bid.
• Imported content must be declared and calculated according to the formula provided in SATS 1286:2011.
• Prices must be converted to Rand (ZAR) using the exchange rates published by the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) at 12:00 on the bid advertisement date.
• Proof of exchange rates used must be submitted.
• All declarations and supporting documentation must be completed and submitted as part of the bid process.

Skills Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Technical expertise in the supply of bearings, ensuring compliance with specified standards.
• Knowledge of local content calculation and declaration procedures as per SATS 1286:2011.
• Ability to provide accurate documentation and proof of local content and imported content declarations.
• Understanding of procurement processes and contractual obligations related to long-term supply agreements.
