Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of bread slicer blades for the Department of Correctional Services in Durban. The aim is to ensure the department has access to high-quality bakery essential materials that meet specified standards and specifications, supporting their operational needs.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of bread slicer blades (model BSK901049), comprising a full set of 21 blades.
• Delivery to the Durban Correctional Centres within the specified contractual and technical requirements.
• Provision of related incidental services such as packaging, documentation, and compliance with technical specifications.

The contract is a once-off purchase with immediate delivery upon request, with an estimated quantity of one unit (full set of blades). The total value and specific quantities are to be confirmed during the procurement process.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Conformance to the National Department of Correctional Services Product Specification.
• The blades must be new, unused, and incorporate recent design and material improvements.
• Compliance with specified standards and specifications outlined in the bid documents.
• Delivery of blades in packaging that prevents damage during transit, with proper labeling and documentation.
• Delivery to be made within the agreed timeframe, with all necessary shipping and delivery documents.
• Full insurance coverage for the goods during transportation and storage.
• Provision of warranties valid for twelve (12) months post-delivery or eighteen (18) months post-shipment, covering defects arising from design, materials, or workmanship.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

• Registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD).
• Compliance with tax obligations, including submission of a valid tax compliance status or PIN from SARS.
• Provision of a B-BBEE status verification certificate or sworn affidavit, with supporting documentation, to claim preference points.
• Capability to supply the specified blades meeting technical specifications and standards.
• Experience in supplying bakery essential materials, supported by references or previous contract details.
• Ability to deliver within the stipulated timeframe and handle logistics efficiently.
• Provision of a signed confirmation of supply arrangements (BD 27) if sourcing from third parties.
• Financial capability to undertake the contract, including evidence of previous supply performance and capacity.
