Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of building and maintenance materials to the Durban and Umzinto Correctional Centres under the Department of Correctional Services. The materials are intended for use at Durban and Umzinto Correctional Centres, with specific quantities and specifications outlined in the bid documents. The contract covers a once-off delivery period, with the successful bidder responsible for providing all items listed in the pricing schedule, ensuring compliance with the technical and quality requirements specified by the department.

Technical Requirements

• All materials must conform to the standards and specifications provided and approved by the Department of Correctional Services.
• Suppliers must be registered on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) and provide proof of registration and tax compliance.
• Bid submissions must include certified copies of relevant documents, including B-BBEE certificates or sworn affidavits, and supplier confirmation forms (BD 27).
• Pricing must be firm, inclusive of all applicable taxes, delivery costs, and in the specified currency (South African Rand).
• Suppliers must provide detailed technical information, including product descriptions, country of origin, and compliance with specifications.
• Delivery must be made within the specified period, with all shipments accompanied by proper documentation such as delivery notes and invoices.
• Suppliers are required to adhere to the conditions related to quality control, inspection, packing, and handling as outlined in the general and special conditions of contract.
• Bidder must demonstrate capability through previous experience, capability assessments, and capability and financial ability verification.
• All bids must comply with the evaluation criteria, including mandatory requirements, price, and specific goals (such as B-BBEE status, youth, women, and disability ownership).
