Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver civil consumables required for the Namakwa Bulk Water Supply Scheme in the Northern Cape, supporting the Department of Water and Sanitation’s infrastructure upgrade and refurbishment efforts to ensure sustainable water supply in the region.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various civil consumables, including fasteners, wire products, welding electrodes, lubricants, paints, tools, and other related materials. The delivery point is at the DWS Construction South office in Steinkopf, Northern Cape, with specific requirements for quantities, packaging, transportation, and timely delivery within stipulated deadlines.

Technical Requirements

• Compliance with applicable standards and specifications as detailed in the project specifications and technical information sections.
• Materials must be suitable for construction use, corrosion-resistant, and meet specified sizes, grades, and safety standards.
• Items such as nails, fasteners, welding electrodes, lubricants, paints, and tools must conform to the detailed specifications provided in the tender documents.
• All materials must be properly packaged for transportation and delivered in roadworthy vehicles.
• Delivery must adhere to the schedule, with commencement within 10 working days of order and delivery during specified working hours.
• Suppliers must provide a delivery schedule within 5 working days of bid acceptance.
• Suppliers are responsible for insuring goods against loss or damage until delivery.
• Late delivery penalties and penalties for non-compliance with specifications apply as per the contract conditions.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying civil construction consumables, with demonstrated capability to meet technical specifications.
• Compliance with legal and administrative requirements, including registration with the Central Supplier Database (CSD), SARS tax compliance, and valid B-BBEE certification.
• Ability to provide proof of technical compliance, including certifications, product specifications, and safety standards.
• Capacity to deliver goods within tight schedules and manage logistics effectively.
• Qualified personnel with knowledge of construction materials, safety standards, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to provide technical support, documentation, and after-sales services if required.
