Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a qualified supplier to provide and deliver cleaning materials to Umsobomvu Local Municipality. The goal is to ensure the municipality's cleaning needs are met with quality products, timely delivery, and compliance with relevant procurement policies and standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various cleaning materials as specified in the pricing schedule, including items such as pine gel, floor wax polish, dishwashing detergent, brooms, mops, dusters, bleach, toilet paper, stain remover, vacuum cleaner accessories, furniture polish, and other related cleaning supplies. The contract covers the procurement of these items in the required quantities, delivery to the specified location in Colesberg, and adherence to the stipulated technical and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

• Suppliers must provide products that are SABS approved where applicable.
• All products must meet the specifications outlined in the tender documents and be suitable for municipal cleaning purposes.
• Items must be delivered in properly packed and labeled packages, complying with transportation and handling standards to prevent damage or deterioration.
• Suppliers must provide samples if requested, either with the bid submission or as specified.
• Pricing must be inclusive of VAT and firm, with no rates subject to exchange rate variations.
• Delivery must be completed within the agreed timeframe, with the supplier confirming in writing their ability to supply the specified quantities upon order.
• All products must comply with local content requirements where applicable.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying cleaning materials to municipal or similar public sector entities.
• Registered on the Central Supplier Database and in good standing with SARS (tax compliance).
• Ability to provide quality products that meet SABS standards and municipal specifications.
• Capacity to deliver the required quantities within the stipulated delivery schedule.
• Demonstrated understanding of procurement policies, including B-BBEE compliance and preferential procurement regulations.
• Ability to provide samples and supporting documentation such as tax clearance certificates, municipal rates and taxes clearance, and B-BBEE certificates.
• Competence in adhering to contractual obligations, including warranties, quality assurance, and timely communication.
