Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver electrical consumables spares on an as-and-when-required basis at Hendrina Power Station for a period of five years. The tender aims to establish a reliable supply chain that meets Eskom's quality, safety, and operational standards, ensuring continuous power station operations through timely procurement of consumables.

Scope

The scope involves the procurement, supply, and delivery of electrical consumables spares necessary for Hendrina Power Station. It includes all activities related to sourcing, manufacturing/refurbishing (if applicable), quality assurance, and delivery of specified electrical components and materials as detailed in the project scope and contractual documents, adhering to relevant standards and codes such as NEC or FIDIC.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of a comprehensive Contract Quality Plan (CQP) aligned with ISO 10005 and Eskom standards, detailing roles, responsibilities, and quality controls throughout the project lifecycle.
• Implementation of a Quality Control Plan (QCP) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for all deliverables, including offsite and onsite activities, with documented procedures for inspection, testing, and acceptance.
• Adherence to manufacturing, fabrication, welding, NDT/NDE standards, and other special process controls as specified.
• Provision of detailed documentation including certificates of compliance, material certificates, warranty certificates, dimension reports, and test reports.
• Effective management of supplier and sub-supplier interfaces, including monitoring, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Proper handling, storage, preservation, identification, and traceability of materials and components.
• Post-delivery activities such as commissioning support, warranty management, and defect rectification.

Skills Requirements

• Proficiency in developing and implementing Quality Management Systems compliant with ISO 9001:2015.
• Experience in preparing and managing Contract Quality Plans (CQP) and Quality Control Plans (QCP) aligned with international standards.
• Ability to conduct supplier and sub-supplier audits, performance monitoring, and interface management within a quality assurance framework.
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards, fabrication controls, welding procedures, NDT/NDE processes, and relevant industry standards.
• Competence in documentation control, inspection, testing, and certification processes, including handling technical reports and certificates.
• Skills in risk management, record keeping, and managing post-delivery activities such as warranty and defect management.
• Strong communication skills for effective coordination with Eskom, suppliers, and subcontractors, including reporting and meeting facilitation.
