Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver gaskets for stock replenishment at Lethabo Power Station over a period of five (5) years. The project aims to ensure continuous availability of gaskets, maintain operational efficiency, and adhere to Eskom's safety, health, and environmental standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes the procurement, supply, and delivery of gaskets to Lethabo Power Station for a duration of five years. The contractor responsible will be designated as the "Main Contractor," with any appointed contractors referred to as "Appointed Contractors." The scope also encompasses compliance with Eskom's OHS specifications, safety standards, and relevant legislative requirements throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

• Supply and delivery of gaskets for stock replenishment at Lethabo Power Station for five years.
• Development and implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plan aligned with Eskom and legislative standards.
• Preparation of a SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) policy signed by the CEO or equivalent.
• Conduct baseline risk assessments and develop method statements for all activities.
• Ensure compliance with Eskom's OHS specifications, including hazard identification, risk management, and emergency preparedness.
• Provision of appropriate PPE, safety equipment, and training to all personnel involved.
• Establishment of communication systems for OHS issues and regular safety meetings.
• Implementation of safety audits, incident investigations, and non-conformance procedures.
• Adherence to Eskom's Life-saving Rules and other safety protocols.
• Management of vehicle and site safety, housekeeping, stacking, and storage of materials.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified and competent personnel with relevant certifications (e.g., safety officers, risk assessors, supervisors).
• Experience in managing OHS compliance in industrial or power station environments.
• Knowledge of Eskom's SHEQ policies, OHS legislation, and safety standards such as ISO 45001.
• Ability to develop and implement safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Training in incident investigation, hazard identification, and emergency response.
• Effective communication skills for safety meetings, toolbox talks, and reporting.
• Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation, audit reports, and training records.
