Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver gear oil pumps to Eskom's Matimba Power Station on an as-and-when-required basis over a period of five years. The aim is to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality gear oil pumps that meet specified technical and quality standards, supporting the operational needs of the power station.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses:

• The supply, delivery, and off-loading of mill gear oil pumps to Matimba Power Station.
• Provision of pumps suitable for mill bearing lubrication and other specified applications.
• Ensuring all supplied pumps conform to the detailed specifications, drawings, and quality requirements outlined in the scope of work documentation.
• Delivery on an as-and-when-required basis over a five-year period.

The scope also includes compliance with contractual, safety, and quality standards, as well as adherence to applicable policies and regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that the supplied gear oil pumps must meet the following criteria:

• Conform to detailed specifications such as capacity, speed, pressure ratings, and mounting configurations (e.g., flange, foot-mounted).
• Be of proven design and performance, with appropriate certifications and drawings validated against the latest revision numbers.
• Include pumps such as rotary gear, gear, and roloid types with specified port sizes, capacities, and materials (e.g., CI for casings).
• Be supplied complete with fittings, seals (e.g., NBR), and assembled as a single unit.
• Meet quality standards including ISO 9001, with quality control and assurance processes in place.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and health regulations, including asbestos and hazardous materials management where applicable.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from the successful tenderer include:

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering mill gear oil pumps and related equipment.
• Technical capability to manufacture, test, and store pumps according to specified standards and drawings.
• Ability to ensure quality management systems are in place, including ISO 9001 certification and adherence to Eskom quality policies.
• Competence in project management, including timely delivery, program adherence, and coordination with Eskom’s supply chain and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including asbestos handling and hazardous materials management.
• Effective communication skills for contractual, technical, and safety compliance documentation and meetings.
• Capability to respond to technical queries, provide after-sales support, and ensure continuous supply over the five-year period.
