Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of hazardous liquid herbicide (mg/l, 20L containers) to Eskom. The process aims to ensure the acquisition of quality herbicide products that meet safety and environmental standards, delivered within stipulated timelines, and compliant with Eskom’s procurement policies.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply of hazardous liquid herbicide in 20-liter containers, with specified mg/l concentration.
• Delivery of the herbicide to Eskom’s designated locations.
• Compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards as specified in the tender documents.
• Adherence to local content and import content requirements where applicable.
• Provision of necessary documentation, including import/export and tax compliance certificates.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Herbicide must be hazardous liquid with specified mg/l concentration suitable for Eskom’s application.
• Product must meet safety, health, and environmental standards as per Eskom and regulatory requirements.
• Herbicide containers must be 20 liters, clearly labeled according to Eskom’s labeling specifications.
• Suppliers must provide proof of compliance with local content regulations (Annexures G1-G4).
• Suppliers must submit relevant safety, health, and environmental management documentation, including risk assessments and safety policies.
• Pricing must include cataloguing where applicable, with Eskom covering associated costs.
• Herbicide must be compatible with Eskom’s operational standards and specifications.

Skills and Capabilities Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying hazardous chemicals, specifically herbicides, to large industrial or utility organizations.
• Technical expertise in handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous liquids in compliance with safety standards.
• Capability to provide all mandatory documentation, including safety data sheets, import/export certificates, tax compliance, and local content declarations.
• Ability to meet Eskom’s delivery timelines and quality standards.
• Knowledge of environmental management and safety regulations related to hazardous substances.
• Financial stability and capacity to supply the required quantities reliably.
• Compliance with Eskom’s procurement policies, including integrity and conflict of interest declarations.
