Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a rate-based contract for the supply and delivery of kitchen utensils to Frere Hospital for a period of twenty-four (24) months. The contract aims to ensure the hospital has a consistent supply of kitchen utensils as needed, without guaranteeing specific sales, and to facilitate efficient procurement within the stipulated period.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of various kitchen utensils as specified in the technical specifications.
• Provision of utensils such as spatulas, colanders, egg lifters, oven racks, bain-marie inserts, chopping and cutting boards, polycarbonate jugs and tumblers, pairing knives, and other related items.
• Delivery to Frere Hospital over a period of 24 months, with the possibility of issuing work orders as needed.
• The issuing, issuing at the discretion of the hospital, and cancellation of orders at any time during the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the kitchen utensils include:

• Compliance with detailed item descriptions such as:
• 10 x Pap stirrers
• 4 x colanders
• 5 x egg lifters
• 60 x oven racks (grid wire, chromium plated, size 32cm x 52cm)
• Bain-Marie inserts of various sizes (55mm, 65mm, 100mm, 150mm stainless steel, perforated and full)
• 12 x chopping/cutting boards of specified dimensions and colors
• Polycarbonate jugs and tumblers, unbreakable, spill-proof lids, textured exterior, and sanitary rim
• Pairing knives, sharp, durable, with handles suitable for daily use

All items must meet the specified compliance criteria, and samples may be required prior to order placement.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Bidder requirements include:

• Completion and signing of all required schedules and declarations, including the returnable evaluation and pricing schedules.
• Provision of a valid Tax Compliance Status (TCS) PIN or Central Supplier Database (CSD) number, with separate certificates for joint ventures or consortia.
• Demonstration of capacity and capability to supply and deliver kitchen utensils for the entire contract period.
• Compliance with tax obligations, including submission of SARS PIN or tax clearance certificates.
• Adherence to the technical specifications and quality standards outlined in the tender documentation.
• Provision of supporting documents such as bank confirmation letters, CSD reports, and proof of compliance with preferential procurement goals if applicable.

Additionally, bidders must be registered and compliant with relevant government procurement policies, and must not be persons in the service of the state or associated with entities involved in collusive practices.
