  • Orthotic components including thermoplastic sheets, straps, metals, joints, pads, insoles, casting materials, and fabrication accessories.
  • Fabrication materials like resins, adhesives, abrasives, finishing materials, casting socks, gloves, and related consumables.
  • Additional items such as chemicals, lamination resins, adhesives, and various tools and accessories required for manufacturing and fitting.

The contract covers all items listed under each category, with the requirement that bidders quote for all commodities and items within each category.

Technical Requirements

All products supplied must meet the following technical standards:

  • Compliance with Medical Device Regulations (valid SAHPRA certificate where applicable).
  • Adherence to ISO 13485 standards and SABS quality requirements.
  • Manufacturer certification and traceability, including country of origin and manufacturing date.
  • Delivery within 15–21 calendar days for locally manufactured items and 45 calendar days for imported items upon receipt of official purchase orders.
  • Part deliveries are not accepted unless prior arrangements are made.

Warranty & After-Sales Support

  • Minimum 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects for all prosthetic and orthotic components.
  • Support for defective items, including replacement within 7 days of notification.
  • Provision of technical information sheets and fitting guidelines as required.

  • Bidder must demonstrate experience and track record in supplying orthotic and prosthetic consumables.
