Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver mills couplings on an as-and-when-required basis for Eskom over a period of five years. The tender aims to ensure a reliable supply chain for mill couplings, promote local content and supplier development, and meet Eskom's operational and contractual requirements.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Supply and delivery of mills couplings as specified in the tender documentation.
• Provision of couplings on an as-and-when-required basis over a five-year period.
• Compliance with technical, quality, safety, environmental, and contractual requirements outlined in the tender.
• Adherence to local content and supplier development objectives, including skills development and B-BBEE commitments.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements encompass:

• Provision of storage procedures demonstrating preservation methods for mill couplings, including packaging, storage environment, and maintenance.
• Company experience in supplying mill plant couplings, with a minimum of 1-2 years, supported by contracts or purchase orders.
• Compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards or credible evidence of equivalent quality management systems.
• Submission of safety, health, and environmental policies, including occupational health and safety standards and certifications.
• Provision of detailed technical documentation, including bill of materials, design parameters, and work showing all parts and materials.
• Evaluation against technical criteria with a minimum threshold of 70% for functionality.

Skills and Skills Development Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Implementation of skills development initiatives, including sourcing candidates from Lephalale Municipality, with a minimum bursary duration of 24 months.
• Skilling one candidate for every R10 million spent cumulatively, with positive progress demonstrated monthly.
• Compliance with supplier development and localisation objectives, including B-BBEE levels and local content thresholds.
• Submission of a B-BBEE improvement or retention plan within 30 days of contract signing.
• Participation in skills development and employment creation aligned with Eskom’s transformation goals.
