Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of personal protective clothing (PPE) for workers participating in the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) within the Richtersveld Municipality. The aim is to ensure that EPWP workers are equipped with appropriate PPE to promote safety and compliance with occupational health standards until the contract end date of 30 June 2026.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of various PPE items such as eye protection, head & face protection, hand protection, branded protective clothing, high visibility reflective safety hats, footwear, and other PPE equipment (first aid kits, traffic cones, hazard tape, reflective tape).
• Delivery of all PPE to the specified location within Richtersveld Municipality.
• Adherence to the quantities and specifications outlined in the Bill of Quantities.
• Completion and submission of all required documentation and forms as specified in the tender requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Supply of PPE items that meet safety standards and are suitable for EPWP workers.
• Branded clothing with the logos of EPWP, Department of Public Works, and Richtersveld Municipality on arms and legs.
• High visibility safety hats in fluorescent yellow with reflective tape, without branding.
• Provision of additional PPE such as footwear, first aid kits, traffic cones (45cm and 75cm), hazard tape, and reflective tapes (orange/silver and lime/silver).
• Items must be new, of good quality, and conform to relevant safety and occupational health standards.
• Costing must include VAT where applicable, with a total cost calculation including 15% VAT.
• All bidders must provide valid documentation including company registration, tax clearance, municipal accounts, and declarations as specified.
• Adherence to the evaluation criteria based on 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals, including regional enterprise promotion and community upliftment commitments.
