Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver PPE accessories and boots as and when required at Arnot Power Station over a period of five (5) years. The tender aims to establish a reliable supply chain for PPE accessories and boots, ensuring quality, compliance with standards, and timely delivery to support operational needs.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of PPE accessories and boots, including their supply, delivery, and associated technical and quality assurance requirements. The contract covers multiple categories of PPE, with specific focus on safety footwear and accessories, for the duration of five years, with provisions for as-and-when required deliveries. The scope also includes compliance with technical, quality, and safety standards, as well as adherence to Eskom’s procurement and quality management processes.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of PPE accessories and boots compliant with relevant safety standards and specifications.
• Submission of quality management documentation, including ISO 9001:2015 certification or evidence of an effective quality management system.
• Implementation of a documented Quality Management System, including policies, objectives, control of non-conforming outputs, internal audits, and management reviews.
• Development and submission of a Contract Quality Plan aligned with ISO 10005 guidelines, detailing quality assurance processes for the scope of work.
• Preparation and submission of a Quality Control Plan (QCP) or Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), demonstrating how quality will be monitored and controlled during delivery and installation.
• Compliance with specific standards related to PPE, including certification by approved authorities and recognition of international accreditation.
• Adherence to Eskom’s procurement, safety, and environmental policies, including safety footwear standards and PPE specifications.
• Provision of relevant documentation such as ISO certificates, audit reports, and management review records.
• Participation in supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments as required by Eskom’s quality assurance processes.

Skills and Competency Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying PPE accessories and safety boots to large industrial or power station environments.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain ISO 9001:2015 compliant quality management systems.
• Capability to develop and submit comprehensive Quality Management System documentation, including policies, objectives, and audit reports.
• Expertise in preparing and managing Contract Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans aligned with ISO standards.
• Technical knowledge of PPE standards, certification processes, and safety requirements relevant to Eskom’s operational environment.
• Experience in conducting supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations in accordance with Eskom’s quality assurance framework.
• Ability to provide technical support and documentation to facilitate compliance and quality assurance during supply and delivery.
• Competence in managing logistics, delivery schedules, and as-and-when required procurement processes.
• Strong understanding of Eskom’s procurement policies, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
