Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit proposals from experienced vendors for the supply and delivery of security uniforms to Gert Sibande District Municipality. The aim is to procure brand new, compliant, and durable security uniforms that meet specified standards, branding, and safety requirements, ensuring a professional appearance for security personnel within the municipality.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of a comprehensive range of security uniforms and accessories, including but not limited to:

• Jackets, shirts (short and long sleeve), trousers, ties, pullovers, jerseys, combat shirts, and trousers
• Formal corporate blazers and trousers
• Security footwear such as tactical/security shoes and boots
• Additional accessories like ties, belts, and branded insignia
• Delivery of all items to designated GSDM locations within the district

The contract covers the supply, delivery, and branding of uniforms in accordance with technical specifications, standards, and branding guidelines, including embroidery and printed logos, for a specified period during the 2025/2026 financial year.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the uniforms include:

• Material and Construction: High-quality, durable, water-resistant, and easy-care fabrics such as polyester, PVC, Poly-Rayon, and coated Oxford polyester.
• Design and Features: Uniforms must adhere to PSIRA regulations, ensuring suitability for security duties, non-resemblance to law enforcement uniforms, and prohibition of blue or camouflage fabrics. Features include reinforced seams, water-resistant coatings, storm flaps, functional pockets, and appropriate sizing.
• Branding and Identification: Prominent embroidery or printing of the GSDM logo and municipality name on front and arms, with role indicators such as "SECURITY," "SUPERVISOR," or "CSS."
• Color Specifications: Safety orange and black for jackets, black for shoes and boots, maroon for pullovers, jerseys, ties, and formal shirts, grey for corporate trousers and combat trousers.
• Compliance: All garments must meet PSIRA standards, be colourfast, resistant to shrinkage, and remain legible after laundering. Uniforms must not resemble law enforcement attire and must exclude blue or camouflage patterns.
• Additional Items: Formal shirts (short and long sleeve), corporate trousers, formal blazers, ties, combat gear, and accessories, all conforming to specified standards for appearance, durability, and ease of maintenance.

The successful bidder must verify quality, sizes, branding, and compliance before bulk delivery, ensuring all uniforms meet the detailed specifications and standards outlined in the tender documentation.
