Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety Boots to the Durban (Westville) area for the Department of Correctional Services. The aim is to ensure the provision of quality safety gear to support maintenance activities within the department's Durban management area.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of various PPE items and safety boots as specified in the tender documentation. This includes items such as masks, safety glasses, tapes, gloves, helmets, cones, and safety boots in specified sizes, quantities, and specifications to meet the department's maintenance requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to the specifications outlined in the tender documents, including compliance with national standards and the Department of Correctional Services product specifications.
• All PPE and safety boots must be new, unused, and of the most recent models, incorporating recent design and material improvements.
• Items must be properly packed to prevent damage during transit, with packaging and labeling matching the invoice details.
• Delivery must be made in accordance with the specified delivery schedule, with all necessary documentation such as delivery notes and invoices.
• Items must be insured against loss or damage during transportation and storage.
• Suppliers must provide warranties for the goods, typically valid for 12 months post-delivery or 18 months post-shipment, covering defects arising from design, materials, or workmanship.
• Suppliers are required to submit all relevant compliance documentation, including certificates, certifications, and proof of registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
