Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver various production equipment within the Gauteng Cluster on an "as and when required" basis over a period of 5 years. The aim is to ensure the procurement of quality production tools that meet Eskom's standards, standards compliance, and operational requirements for network maintenance and construction.

Scope

The scope encompasses the provision of a range of production tools used on Eskom's power networks within the Gauteng Cluster. It includes:

• Supply and delivery of various production equipment as specified in the technical schedules.
• Evaluation of suppliers based on technical compliance, standards adherence, and experience.
• Application of Eskom's procurement and evaluation procedures across the Gauteng distribution network.
• Assessment of suppliers' ability to meet Eskom's standards, including testing and certification requirements.

The scope also involves adherence to Eskom's technical evaluation criteria, standards, and procurement policies, ensuring high safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the contract period.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Eskom standards, SANS standards, and relevant international standards (if applicable).
• Submission of technical schedules (Schedules A & B) demonstrating compliance with mandatory criteria.
• Provision of evidence of product conformity, including type tests and certifications from SANAS-accredited bodies or equivalent international standards.
• Demonstration of the supplier's capability to supply the specified production tools, including experience and past performance.
• Adherence to testing, quality assurance, and documentation requirements as specified in the tender pack.
• Evaluation of technical submissions based on responsiveness, standards compliance, and experience.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tender requires the following skills and expertise from suppliers:

• Technical proficiency in manufacturing or supplying production tools and equipment for electrical networks.
• Ability to demonstrate compliance with relevant standards and testing requirements.
• Experience in delivering similar equipment within the power distribution sector, with evidence of past procurement and supply performance (e.g., purchase orders over the past four years).
• Capability to provide technical documentation, including drawings, test reports, and certification from accredited bodies.
• Understanding of Eskom's procurement procedures, standards, and evaluation criteria.
• Capacity to source products directly from OEMs or authorized distributors, ensuring full accountability for the entire product lifecycle.
