Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to establish a contractual arrangement for the supply and delivery of various types of bolts, nuts, washers, and springs at Kriel Power Station on an “as and when” required basis over a period of 5 years. The contract aims to ensure the availability of high-quality fasteners to support maintenance, emergency repairs, and operational needs, thereby maintaining safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of the station.

Scope

The scope encompasses the procurement, supply, and delivery of a wide range of fasteners including bolts, nuts, washers, and springs of various sizes, materials, and standards. The works include:

• Manufacture and/or sourcing of specified fasteners according to detailed specifications and standards.
• Packaging, labelling, and documentation in line with Eskom’s requirements.
• Transport and delivery of the goods to Kriel Power Station stores.
• Quality assurance, inspection, and testing as per specified standards and procedures.
• Provision of technical support, storage, and handling instructions.
• Compliance with safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards.

The contract duration is five years, with the possibility of extension or renewal based on performance and Eskom’s requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Adherence to relevant standards such as ISO 9001, SABS standards, BS standards, and other applicable codes.
• Provision of material certificates, test reports, and quality documentation for all supplied goods.
• Labelling and cataloguing of all items in accordance with Eskom’s specifications.
• Delivery of goods in specified quantities, sizes, and materials as per the Bill of Quantities and specifications.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including asbestos management where applicable.
• Provision of detailed manufacturing, inspection, and testing documentation, including NDT certificates where required.
• Timely delivery aligned with agreed schedules, with provisions for handling urgent requirements.
• Implementation of quality control plans and inspection/test plans (ITPs/QCPs) for all deliverables.
• Provision of cataloguing information and labelling in line with Eskom’s labelling standards.
• Compliance with Eskom’s SHEQ policies and procedures, including safety files and risk assessments.
• Participation in meetings, reporting, and performance monitoring as per contractual obligations.

The technical evaluation will assess the supplier’s capability, experience, quality management systems, compliance with standards, and adherence to specifications, with a minimum threshold score of 70% for technical acceptability.
