Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Veeam Backup Essentials software to support and enhance the existing backup infrastructure within Cape Agulhas Municipality. The solution aims to ensure reliable data backup, restore capabilities, data integrity testing, and protection against ransomware through features like immutability. The contract also seeks to establish support and licensing for a period of three years, ensuring continuous operational availability and disaster recovery readiness.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Provision of Veeam Backup Essentials software licenses for three years, including enterprise features and support.
• Configuration of backup jobs for five host servers with 15 VMs in a VMware environment.
• Automatic deletion of old backups and setup for data restoration to disaster recovery (DR) and production servers.
• Testing backup data integrity and sending email notifications for backup success/failure and errors.
• Implementation of data immutability to safeguard against ransomware and tampering.
• Replication of backup contents to local and remote storage devices.
• Support services including remote and onsite support, setup, and travel as needed.

• Deployment of Veeam Backup Essentials Universal Subscription Licenses, including enterprise features.
• Configuration of backup and restore processes for specified servers and VMs.
