Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply, deliver, and install ceilings within the Harry Gwala Development Agency's premises. The installation aims to enhance airflow, thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and overall safety of the facilities, particularly to support the optimal performance of recently installed air conditioning systems. The project seeks to improve indoor air quality, reduce operational costs, and promote a safe, sustainable working environment.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and installation of suspended ceiling systems and associated fixtures in designated areas, including the removal of existing ceilings where specified.
• Ensure proper fixture alignment, structural integrity, and compliance with safety standards.
• Identify and rectify unsafe or non-compliant modifications.
• Remove existing equipment such as two mounted cold-room coolers.
• Attend a compulsory briefing session.
• Ensure site cleanliness post-installation, including disposal of debris and packaging materials.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of suspended ceiling materials such as frosted white ceiling boards (1200mm x 600mm x 9mm), main tees, cross tees, wall angles, wall plugs, staples, and screws, with quantities specified in the Bill of Quantities.
• Installation of ceilings in the existing Boardroom and LED Office, with quantities and specifications detailed in the Bill of Quantities.
• Removal of existing ceilings and equipment, including two cold-room coolers.
• Compliance with industry standards and specifications, including safety and structural integrity.
• Provision of labour, transportation, and related costs, with detailed breakdowns provided in the bid documentation.
• Proof of CIDB registration with appropriate grading (minimum 1 GB for ceiling works).
• Demonstrable relevant experience, including at least three similar projects completed within the last five years.
• Submission of mandatory documents such as tax clearance, municipal accounts, CIDB registration, and completed MBD forms.
• Adherence to the evaluation criteria, including functionality scoring (minimum 60/100), price, and specific goals related to ownership and RDP objectives.
