Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply, deliver, and install high-quality epoxy coating flooring in the Technicians’ Office at Irene Weather Office. The project aims to renovate the existing flooring to ensure durability, safety, and a modern working environment, while maintaining ongoing operations and operational requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Assessment and measurement of the designated room (approximate size: 700cm x 470cm).
• Preparation of the existing floor surface, including removal of old coatings and debris.
• Application of a long-lasting epoxy coating flooring suitable for a technical environment.
• Waterproofing and damp proofing of the floor as required.
• Testing and certification of existing coatings prior to installation.
• Removal and disposal of all rubble and dirt generated during the project.
• Provision of a minimum 5-year warranty on workmanship and epoxy coating.

The work will be carried out at the Irene Weather Office, located on the ARC premises with GPS coordinates 25°54'42.64"S, 28°12'38.22"E.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the project include:

• Pre-quotation assessment and measurement of the room.
• Provision of physical test results on existing coatings.
• Water/damp proofing of the floor surface.
• Use of high-quality, durable epoxy coating suitable for a technical environment.
• Preparation of the existing floor surface to ensure proper adhesion of the epoxy coating.
• Removal of all debris and old coating materials post-application.
• Warranty/guarantee of at least 5 years on workmanship and epoxy coating.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards, including waste disposal.
• Provision of detailed project timelines, including commencement and completion dates.
• Provision of contactable references demonstrating experience in similar flooring projects.
• Proof of relevant certifications, CIDB grading (minimum 1GB), and compliance with POPIA and tax requirements.
