The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to deliver a secure, scalable, and real-time Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system across South Africa. The system aims to enhance public safety, support crime prevention, law enforcement, and municipal by-law enforcement by providing vehicle identification, verification, alerts, and data analysis capabilities.
The scope includes the provision of a cloud-based vehicle intelligence platform integrated with Hikvision ANPR cameras in the George Municipal area and other agencies. The system will facilitate nationwide deployment focusing on crime hotspots, roads, border posts, estates, business parks, and suburbs. It encompasses software development, hardware integration, installation, maintenance, training, and capacity building over a period of three years.
