Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to invite qualified bidders to purchase and remove decommissioned steel and concreted pipes, approximately 50 metric tons in weight, from PetroSA's site. The successful bidder will be responsible for the safe cutting, loading, transportation, and disposal or recycling of the materials in compliance with PetroSA’s SHEQ policies and relevant legislation.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Purchase of used, decommissioned steel pipes and cement-encased pipes previously used for drilling operations.
• Inspection of the materials on-site prior to bidding.
• Safe removal, loading, transportation, and disposal or recycling of the materials.
• Compliance with PetroSA’s site safety policies, environmental, and occupational health and safety legislation.
• The materials are located at the PetroSA Logistics Base, Mossel Bay.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The materials are used, decommissioned, and no longer certified for lifting, load-bearing, pressure, or structural use.
• All pipes are of assorted lengths, including 20-inch and 30-inch diameters.
• Materials are sold on an “as is, where is” basis with no warranties regarding their condition or suitability.
• Bidder must arrange site inspection prior to submitting a bid.
• The removal process must adhere to PetroSA’s health and safety policies and environmental standards.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required from bidders include:

• Ability to safely handle, cut, load, and transport heavy industrial pipes.
• Knowledge of environmental and occupational health and safety legislation applicable to the removal and disposal of industrial materials.
• Experience in recycling or disposal of industrial scrap materials.
• Capacity to comply with PetroSA’s SHEQ policies and site safety procedures.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for site inspection and removal activities.
