Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply and deliver science apparatus to Thethe Secondary School located at 1077 Tlebebe Section, Ga-luka Village, Rustenburg in North-West. The goal is to ensure the provision of appropriate science equipment that meets specified technical standards, within the desired timeframe and budget, to support educational activities at the school.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of specified science apparatus for physics, chemistry, and physics experiments, including detailed equipment such as mechanics kits, gas laws apparatus, waves, light and sound kits, electricity and electrostatics kits, chemistry apparatus, safety equipment, and chemicals.
• Adherence to detailed specifications outlined in Annexure A, covering quantities and specific items for Grades 10-12 science classes.
• Provision of all necessary documentation, including reference letters, safety files, and compliance certificates.
• Completion of delivery within an estimated period of 7 days from appointment.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Delivery of science apparatus that complies with the detailed specifications provided, including quantities, item descriptions, and quality standards.
• Provision of chemicals that meet CAPS compliance and safety standards, with proper labelling and safety data sheets.
• Provision of safety equipment such as gloves, lab coats, goggles, disinfectants, spill kits, and related safety gear.
• Compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including submission of SHE files and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
• Proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for all items to ensure safe transit and handling.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering scientific apparatus and chemicals to educational institutions or similar organizations.
• Capacity to meet technical specifications and quality standards outlined in the annexure.
• Ability to provide reference letters and proof of previous supply projects.
• Knowledge of safety and compliance standards relevant to laboratory equipment and chemicals.
• Effective project management skills to ensure timely delivery and installation.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations, including submission of SHE files and safety certificates.
