Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a contractor for the replacement of the Fire Mains Ring Hydrant System at King Phalo Airport. The project aims to upgrade and refurbish the existing fire protection infrastructure to ensure operational integrity, safety, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Replacement of components of the Fire Mains Ring Hydrant System at King Phalo Airport, including work at the fire booster pump house.
• Replacement of the fire water tank, including draining, disposal of damaged parts, and installation of new components such as sight glass and valves.
• Replacement of a rusted pipe section near the diesel engine, including the Y-strainer.
• Repair and replacement of the jockey pump supply line and associated rusted pipes.
• Supply and installation of new isolation valves, including a 250mm delivery line valve and other associated valves.
• Pressure testing, system commissioning, and certification of all installed components.
• Preparation of as-built drawings and final documentation.

The works are governed by standard specifications, relevant standards (SANS, ISO), and the detailed scope provided in the contract documents.

The technical requirements encompass:

• Compliance with applicable standards such as SANS 10400, ISO standards, and national regulations.
• Provision of certified material specifications and certificates demonstrating compliance.
