Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to select a reputable service provider to deliver comprehensive employee wellness services to the Moses Kotane Research Institute (MKRI) over a period of 36 months. The goal is to enhance employee well-being, support mental health, and promote a healthy, productive workforce through a multi-component Employee Wellness Program (EWP) that includes proactive health strategies, counseling, wellness activities, and support during special events.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Development and implementation of a multi-component Employee Wellness Program (EWP).
• Formulation of policies and procedures outlining access, confidentiality, and scope of services.
• Regular communication to staff about benefits and activities via email.
• Orientation of staff on appointment.
• Provision of 24/7 support to employees and their immediate families for personal and work-related issues, including distress and stress management counseling.
• Support and guidance during the MKRI Wellness Day and Sports Day events.
• Provision of management information, reports, and proposals on project methodology and deliverables.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Registration with the Employee Assistance Professionals Association of South Africa (EAPA-SA).
• Provision of qualified personnel with experience in employee wellness and mental health services, including clinical psychologists with at least 5 years of experience and relevant qualifications (e.g., Masters in Organizational Development or Industrial Psychology).
• Development of a detailed 3-year project plan aligned with MKRI’s needs.
• Implementation of communication strategies to inform staff about services and activities.
• Support for wellness and sports day activities, including costs and logistics.
• Provision of reports (monthly, quarterly, annual) and management guidance.
• Adherence to confidentiality, data protection, and ethical standards in service delivery.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in delivering employee wellness and mental health programs, supported by reference letters from public sector clients within the last ten years.
• Qualified clinical psychologists with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in employee wellness services.
• Possession of relevant academic qualifications and professional registrations (e.g., HPCSA registration).
• Capability to develop and execute a comprehensive, tailored project approach and methodology.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff and management, providing regular reports and guidance.
• Compliance with all regulatory and professional standards, including registration with relevant professional bodies.
