Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure gardening services at the Drakensberg Pumped Storage Scheme for a period of five (5) years. The aim is to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of the scheme's grounds through a reliable and competent service provider.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses the provision of gardening services at the Drakensberg Pumped Storage Scheme. This includes routine grounds maintenance, landscaping, and related activities necessary to sustain the aesthetic and functional standards of the site over the five-year contract period.

Technical Requirements

• Adherence to the specified contract type, either NEC or FIDIC, as indicated in the tender documentation.
• Provision of detailed contract documents, including those issued with the tender or intended to be issued, with any deviations clearly documented and negotiated.
• Completion and submission of Annexure A, accurately reflecting negotiated terms and deviations.
• Compliance with the project's impact on value and duration, ensuring that any requested deviations do not adversely affect project timelines or costs beyond acceptable limits.
• Inclusion of all relevant contractual and supporting documents as part of the submission.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in providing gardening and grounds maintenance services, preferably at large-scale industrial or infrastructure sites.
• Ability to negotiate and manage deviations from standard contractual conditions with support from legal, insurance, and end-user stakeholders.
• Competence in completing detailed contractual documentation accurately, including Annexure A and deviation records.
• Understanding of risk management and mitigation strategies related to grounds maintenance projects.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with project managers, legal advisers, insurance experts, and other relevant personnel.
