Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure the provision of quality and safety management services on an “as and when required” basis at Grootvlei Power Station for a period of five (5) years. The services aim to ensure ongoing compliance with safety standards and quality assurance in operations at the power station.

Scope

The scope includes the delivery of quality and safety management services at Grootvlei Power Station, on an ad-hoc basis, over a five-year period. It encompasses activities related to safety management, quality assurance, compliance monitoring, and related support services necessary to maintain operational safety and quality standards at the station.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of safety management services aligned with Eskom’s safety standards and policies.
• Implementation of quality management systems and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and Eskom standards.
• Participation in scheduled and ad-hoc safety and quality audits and inspections.
• Reporting and investigation of safety incidents and quality issues.
• Provision of qualified personnel with relevant experience in safety and quality management within power station environments.
• Adherence to Eskom’s safety protocols, legal compliance, and environmental standards.
• Use of appropriate tools, equipment, and documentation to support safety and quality activities.

Skills Requirements

• Strong knowledge of safety management systems and quality assurance frameworks applicable to power station operations.
• Experience in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Ability to develop, implement, and monitor safety and quality procedures.
• Competence in compliance monitoring and reporting.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with Eskom personnel and contractors.
• Relevant technical qualifications and certifications in safety management, quality assurance, or related fields.
• Proven ability to work independently and respond to ad-hoc safety and quality management needs.
