Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to source suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to supply and deliver technical consumables to the PPECB for an initial period of 36 months, with an option to renew for a further 24 months. The aim is to ensure the continuous provision of essential consumables required for the PPECB’s operations, including monitoring and managing the cold chain for perishable exports from South Africa.

Scope

The scope involves the supply and delivery of a wide range of technical consumables as detailed in Annexure C, including items such as sterilization wipes, gloves, headlamps, chains, cable ties, sample bags, buckets, muslin cloth, surge plugs, extension plugs, thermal bags, ice bricks, wipes, signage, first aid kits, batteries, knives, pipette fillers, coolers, and various other safety and operational equipment. The PPECB reserves the right to not order all items or to request alternatives based on business needs during the contract period. Quantity orders will be made as per the requirements, and the supplier must be capable of providing the items throughout the contract duration, with flexibility for order adjustments.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of equivalent items where specified products are unavailable.
• Adherence to specified quality standards, including packaging, dimensions, and material specifications.
• Items must be suitable for operational use, such as strong denim for sample bags, industrial stitching, and compliance with safety standards.
• Items such as headlamps, chains, and gloves must meet specified technical specifications (e.g., 5W COB LED, 250Lm/5W rechargeable LED headlamp, etc.).
• Delivery must be timely, with lead times clearly stated and adhered to, including proper packaging and labelling.
• All goods must be accompanied by appropriate documentation, such as delivery notes and accurate descriptions.
• Items must meet safety, hygiene, and operational standards as required by PPECB and relevant legislation.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in the supply and delivery of technical consumables, demonstrated through relevant references (minimum of 3 recent clients).
• Capability to supply a diverse range of consumables in accordance with technical specifications and quality standards.
• Ability to manage procurement logistics, including timely delivery, stock management, and order flexibility.
• Knowledge of applicable safety, health, and environmental standards relevant to the supplied items.
• Compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including B-BBEE status, tax compliance, and data protection legislation.
• Capacity to provide technical support and alternatives when specified items are discontinued or unavailable.
