Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of G2 Crusher Run Base Course in the Port of Durban on an “as and when” required basis over a period of thirty-six (36) months. The contract aims to ensure a reliable supply of quality crusher run material to support Transnet's operational needs, while fostering partnerships that promote efficiency, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of G2 Crusher Run Base Course, specifically 37.5mm size, to the Port of Durban as per the detailed specifications provided in Annexure A. The delivery will be on an “as and when” basis, with the supplier required to respond to orders with a 24-hour notice. The contract includes quality assurance, compliance with safety and environmental standards, and the provision of necessary documentation such as calibration certificates and safety plans. The scope also involves adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and environmental management plans as outlined in the tender documents.

Technical Requirements

• Proof of ownership or valid agreement with registered quarry owners for the supply of G2 Crusher Run material.
• Demonstrated experience with at least three (3) completed projects involving supply and delivery of G2 Crusher Run in the last five years, supported by formal references.
• Comprehensive safety and health management policies, including Safety Method Statements and Risk Assessments, aligned with legal and project-specific requirements.
• Environmental Management Plan (EMP) addressing impacts such as waste disposal, pollution control, energy conservation, and biodiversity protection, with a minimum score of 60 points in evaluation.
• Compliance with Green Economy principles, including waste recycling and energy efficiency policies.
• Provision of calibration certificates for weighbridge equipment and safety, health, and environmental plans prior to and during contract execution.
• Adherence to quality standards, specifications, and legal requirements, including safety regulations and environmental legislation.
• Timely response to orders with a 24-hour delivery window, and the ability to supply specified quantities as per the delivery schedule.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience and technical competence in the supply and delivery of G2 Crusher Run material, supported by formal project references.
• Strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental management systems, including the ability to develop and implement comprehensive safety and environmental plans.
• Capability to provide accurate and tested calibration certificates for weighing equipment.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with Transnet’s project teams and compliance with reporting requirements.
• Ability to respond promptly to orders and manage logistics efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance related to quarry operations, transportation, and environmental standards.
