Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) workwear on an "as and when required" basis to Eskom Distribution North-west Operating Unit over a period of 4 years. The aim is to ensure the provision of quality PPE that meets Eskom's safety, environmental, and quality standards, supporting operational safety and efficiency.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply and delivery of PPE workwear to Eskom's Distribution North-west Operating Unit as per the specified requirements. It includes adherence to environmental, quality management, safety, and preservation standards, as well as compliance with Eskom's procurement and quality procedures. The scope also involves supplier capability assessments, quality assurance, and ongoing performance monitoring throughout the contract duration.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with environmental authorization and management standards, including environmental policy, incident reporting, emergency plans, and environmental authorizations.
• Adherence to Eskom's Supplier Quality Management System based on ISO 9001, including development, implementation, and maintenance of a Quality Management System (QMS).
• Provision of documented Quality Control Plans (QCP) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) aligned with technical specifications and standards.
• Development and submission of Contract Quality Plans (CQPs) for both main and sub-suppliers, including verification, inspection, and testing procedures.
• Qualification and competency of inspection personnel, including third-party inspectors, with proper certification and training.
• Implementation of preservation, transportation, and storage procedures to maintain the quality of PPE and related materials during all project phases.
• Participation in Eskom's audits, surveillance, and oversight activities, including witnessing inspections and assessments at supplier and sub-supplier sites.
• Provision of comprehensive documentation, records, and reports to demonstrate compliance and facilitate audits.

Skills Requirements

The skills and competencies required for suppliers include:

• Proven experience in supply and delivery of PPE and workwear, with demonstrated capability to meet Eskom's quality and environmental standards.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and ability to develop and maintain compliant QMS documentation.
• Competence in conducting and supporting quality assurance activities, including inspections, testing, and audits.
• Qualified personnel for special processes such as welding, non-destructive testing (NDT), coating, and other relevant procedures, with appropriate certification.
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive preservation and transportation management plans.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with Eskom, sub-suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Capacity to monitor and improve business processes based on data analysis and performance metrics.
