Objectives

The tender aims to secure services for the main and boiler feed pump turbine condenser high-pressure jet washing during various outages, running, and opportunity maintenance at Lethabo Power Station. The contract duration is five (5) years, with work to be performed on an as-and-when-required basis.

Scope

The scope includes:

• High-pressure jet washing of condensers and heat exchangers.
• Cleaning of Taprogge screens and associated components.
• Site evaluations, method statements, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrations of equipment and processes, including flow rate and cleaning demonstrations.
• Site visits, technical evaluations, and site inspections as part of the selection process.

The work involves technical cleaning activities using high-pressure water jetting equipment, with specific requirements for equipment ownership, safety, and technical capability.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Ownership and operation of automatic lance feeding equipment with variable speed control, supported by datasheets and photos.
• Provision of method statements for condenser tube cleaning and flushing, including safety, commissioning, and monitoring procedures.
• Demonstration of equipment performance, including flow rate and cleaning capability.
• Site inspection and technical evaluation, requiring minimum scores in safety, equipment demonstration, and technical competence.
• Minimum total score of 70% in technical evaluation to proceed to site visits and further assessment.

Skills and Skills Development Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience with high-pressure water jetting of industrial heat exchangers, with at least three (3) verifiable projects completed in the last five (5) years involving pressures of 800 bar or more.
• Technical competence of personnel, including site managers, QC officers, and operators, through qualifications and experience.
• Site visit and technical demonstration, including flow rate verification and equipment demonstration.
• Compliance with safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) standards, supported by relevant documentation.
• Minimum score of 70% in technical evaluation to qualify for site visits and further assessment.
• Provision of detailed method statements, safety plans, and equipment datasheets.
• Experience in executing similar high-pressure cleaning projects, with references and project documentation.
