Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to upgrade the water supply infrastructure in Hluhluwe, specifically focusing on the command reservoir and reticulation system as part of Phase 2. The project aims to enhance water storage capacity, improve reticulation networks, and ensure reliable water delivery to the wards within the scheme.

Scope

The scope includes the design, construction, and installation of new reservoirs, pipelines, chambers, valves, and associated infrastructure. It covers layout plans, detailed engineering drawings, site works, and commissioning of the upgraded water reticulation system across various wards in Hluhluwe. The scope also involves the provision of ancillary structures such as chambers, fencing, signage, and drainage systems, as detailed in the provided drawings and specifications.

Technical Requirements

• Implementation of new reservoirs (4ML and 1ML capacities) at designated sites with appropriate site layout and long-section plans.
• Installation of pipelines (various diameters, primarily 350mm, 200mm, and 80mm) with specified materials (e.g., steel x42 grade C), fittings, and protective coatings.
• Provision of chambers, valves, and pipe specials with corrosion protection, epoxy lining, and appropriate flanged connections.
• Construction of drainage sumps, chambers, and associated drainage infrastructure with specified dimensions and materials.
• Site works including fencing, signage, and access structures, complying with safety and engineering standards.
• Adherence to specified technical standards such as DWS 9900, SAN1217, and AASHTO for materials, coatings, and construction practices.
• Provision of detailed drawings, site layout plans, and longitudinal sections for all components.
