Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the upgrades of 11 units within Nyathi Rest Camp in Addo Elephant National Park. The project aims to enhance the facilities by undertaking general building works, ensuring improved accommodation standards and infrastructure within the park.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Construction and upgrade of 11 units at Nyathi Rest Camp.
• Provision of experienced personnel, plant, and equipment necessary for the execution of the project.
• Demonstration of relevant experience in general building projects, specifically new building works.
• Submission of past and current project details, including letters of intent, awards, and completion certificates.
• Site inspection and assessment to understand the project requirements and site conditions.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Demonstrated experience on comparable projects within the past 5 years.
• Provision of CVs for key personnel: Contracts Manager (min 10 years experience), Site Agent (min 5 years experience), and Site Foreman (min 5 years experience).
• Submission of proof of experience, including project details and client contacts.
• Compliance with quality standards, including contracts of value between R1 million and R5 million (1 point per contract) and exceeding R5 million (2 points per contract).
• Availability of key personnel for the duration of the project, with approval for any proposed changes.
• Attendance at a compulsory site inspection and briefing meeting.
• Provision of a full priced Bills of Quantity, signed and legible.
• Compliance with procurement documentation, including registration on the National Treasury’s CSD, tax compliance, and a valid Letter of Good Standing.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in general building projects, especially new building works.
• Qualified and experienced human resources, including a Contracts Manager, Site Agent, and Site Foreman, each with specified minimum years of experience.
• Availability of CVs for key personnel, who must be employed on a permanent or fixed-term contract.
• Capability to provide proof of past projects, including letters of intent, awards, and completion certificates with contact details.
• Financial capacity and viability to deliver the project, assessed through financial statements and liquidity reports.
• Understanding of project risks and ability to manage contractual and technical risks effectively.
