Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to undertake construction and related activities for Work Package 1 on Trunk Road 93249 (Maniza Road) in KwaXimba Area, Ward 1 – Outer West. The project aims to deliver comprehensive road infrastructure improvements, including earthworks, drainage, paving, ancillary works, retaining walls, and safety measures, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and technical standards.

Scope

The scope encompasses a wide range of construction activities as detailed in the Bill of Quantities, including:

• Preliminary and general items such as site establishment, facilities for the engineer, traffic accommodation, and environmental management.
• Day works involving personnel and equipment for construction tasks.
• Site clearance including clearing, grubbing, and removal of structures.
• Services installation, trenching, and relocation of existing utilities.
• Drainage works including drains, culverts, kerbing, and gabions.
• Earthworks such as excavation, filling, and topsoil conservation.
• Layerworks including roadbed, pavement layers, and concrete paving.
• Ancillary road works like signage, fencing, landscaping, and road markings.
• Retaining walls, gabions, and other structural elements.

The scope also includes safety, environmental, and health management activities as specified in the risk assessments.

Technical Requirements
