Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a 5 Piece Laryngoscope Set Fiber Optic with Handle for Ngwelezane Hospital. The procurement aims to ensure the hospital is equipped with a modern, reliable, and standardized laryngoscope set suitable for adult intubation procedures, supporting effective patient care and safety.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply of 45 sets of 5 Piece Fiber Optic Laryngoscope Sets with Handles.
• Provision of all necessary components, including blades, batteries, and storage cases.
• Delivery, installation, and commissioning of the equipment at Ngwelezane Hospital.
• Training of hospital staff and technical personnel on the use, maintenance, and repair of the equipment.
• Provision of warranty, maintenance, and support services for the equipment's lifespan.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications and requirements for the tender include:

• Design and Compatibility: The set must be suitable for adult applications, with fiber optic illumination through fixed blades.
• Components:
  • Adult battery handle with two alkaline C batteries.
  • Lamp housed in the handle, suitable for fiber optic transmission.
  • Three (3) stainless steel Mackintosh curved blades (sizes 2, 3, and 4).
  • Durable storage case.
• Material and Construction: Handles must be made from stainless steel; blades must be stainless steel, interchangeable, and conform to ISO standards.
• Electrical and Safety Standards: Equipment must comply with IEC 60601-1 and 60601-1-2 standards, and be CE certified.
• Power and Illumination: Handle powered by two C alkaline batteries; lamp suitable for fiber optic light transmission; voltage, wattage, and replacement lamp details to be specified.
• Accessories and Optional Items: Optional blades and accessories must be available separately, with prices quoted accordingly.
• Guarantee and Warranty: Minimum 24 months warranty, with detailed maintenance and support provisions, including training, spare parts, and software updates.
• Delivery and Installation: Equipment must be delivered, installed, tested, calibrated, and demonstrated at the hospital, with costs included in the bid.
• Documentation: Manuals, calibration software, and training materials must be supplied in English, properly bound, and at no extra cost.
• Compliance: All equipment must meet specified standards, be new, unused, and supported by supporting literature and certification.
