Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to meet the needs of the Knysna Municipality. The goal is to ensure that the municipality's personnel are equipped with appropriate PPE to promote safety and compliance with relevant health and safety standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of PPE as specified in the tender documents.
• Embroidery of municipal logos and participation unit identifiers on PPE items.
• Provision of related services such as on-site assembly, commissioning, training, and maintenance support as required.

The procurement covers a specific quantity of PPE items, with detailed specifications and pricing schedules provided in the tender documentation. The contract duration and validity are set at 90 days, with potential extensions as determined by the municipality.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the supply of PPE include:

• Items must be new, unused, and of the most recent models, incorporating current design and material improvements.
• All PPE must meet relevant safety standards and be suitable for the intended use.
• Embroidery must include municipal logos and participation unit identifiers, with specified placement on PPE items.
• Suppliers must provide detailed pricing, including unit prices, total prices, VAT, and grand totals, adhering to a maximum RFQ amount of R30,000.
• Suppliers are required to submit valid tax clearance certificates, B-BBEE status verification, municipal accounts, and other compliance documentation.
• All bids must comply with the Preferential Procurement Regulations 2022, including points allocation for price (80/20 system) and specific goals (20 points).
• Suppliers must demonstrate compliance with supply chain management regulations, including anti-collusion declarations and declaration of interest forms.
