Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a service provider to supply all necessary resources and undertake the installation of fencing around the management houses at Belfast Plantation. This includes providing fencing materials, gates, and related infrastructure to secure the specified area effectively.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Supply and erection of approximately 1900 meters of fencing, including barbed wire strands, razor wire coils, and vehicular gates.
• Installation of fencing components such as clearing and grubbing of the fence route, excavation for footings, and setting of steel posts with concrete bases.
• Provision of 4 gates: one sliding gate (motorized) and three double swing gates, with specified dimensions and features.
• Installation of steel standards, straining and corner posts, stays, droppers, and fencing wire, adhering to specified standards and specifications.
• Ensuring the fence follows ground contours, is plumb, taut, and neatly joined to existing fences and structures.
• Completion of the project within a 3-month timeframe, with delivery to the specified site at Belfast Plantation.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Fencing materials: 16-line single strand steel barbed wire with razor wire coils, galvanized and compliant with relevant standards (SABS 675, SABS 763, etc.).
• Posts: Hot-dip galvanized tubular steel posts (75mm diameter, 2.5mm wall thickness) with base plates and caps, installed in concrete footings (400mm x 400mm x 600mm deep).
• Stays and bracing: Mild steel tubing (50mm diameter, 2.5mm wall thickness) with appropriate footplates, braced with pipe stays bolted to posts.
• Wire attachment: Wires to be tensioned between 1.5 km and 2.0 km, securely fastened with binding wire, with proper splicing techniques.
• Installation of gates: Motorized sliding gate (4m wide), constructed from 75mm x 32mm mild steel tubing, with vertical members, angle iron spikes, and painted with enamel paint.
• Ground contour following: Fence must be aligned with ground levels, with surface irregularities graded for a uniform appearance.
• Compliance: All materials and workmanship must meet the relevant SABS standards and specifications outlined in the tender documentation.
